DVD Burner help

I am about to buy a new DVD burner, and favor the PIONEER L-DVR-108 $231 and I was wondering why it as more expensive than the PIONEER L-DVR-A08 $169.
Most brands seem to be between $150 -$180, what has the L-DVR-108 got that the others have'nt ??

I'm not familiar with that particular model but normally the difference with Pioneer between the two versions is OEM or retail version, I always buy the OEM versions, the fanct colour box doesn't help any. Have you checked Pioneers website for any difference other than this?

Just thought I'd let you know thornton melon that I have just purchased this model for $150 new (OEM) so if you havent bought it already, shop around a little bit and you could save yourself quite a bit of money.

I remember reading that the pioneer can burn dual layers at 4X compared to the 2.4X of most others, as well as single layers at 16X.
It does this on certified 2.4x and 8x media.

Edit - I'd imagine the difference between the two would be a software suite or two, just a mentioned above, the first is the retail and second one is OEM.
