DVD Media to buy

Just after some info....

I have a Pioneer 107 drive and an inkjet printer capable of printing on DVD's. I have the family video ready to go and just need the media.. these are the brands I am looking at. Anyone have any opinions on which ones are good, or not good?

Databank -R 4x Inkjet
Princo -R 4x Inkjet
RiData -R 4x Inkjet
Ritek -R 4x Inkjet
Shintaro -R 4x
Taiyo Yuden -R 4x Inkjet

Also is RiData the retail version of Ritek??

Any additional info greatly appreciated.

I'd go with either the ridata or ritek ones

ritek, ridata or databank.
Be carefull with some databanks, most are made by ritek (those are the ones to get) and some are not those are cheaper quality discs. the price tag should give it away.

I use Princo printables and rarely have trouble. Every now and then a spindle has a few discs which cause a power calibration error and are unusable (to burn) by my pioneer although my Brother-in-law is able to use my rejects on his NEC.

Yep go with the Ritek-G04 discs. Ridata is the same, but branded. Taiyo Yuden is the best stuff, but you have to pay more for it for their inkjet printables.

G04 is rated at only 4X so I would go with the G05's which are rated at 8X

personally I use Princo and Shintaro's, both have been great, but the Shintaro's are my preference.

redbears clearly wants 4x media, if he was to buy 8x media (G05's) it would be incompatile with a 4x burner.

The speed had nothing to do with the drive, just the intended application, I bought the G04's and they have been good so far, and I am burning them at 2x anyway!
